Acetop Precious Metals Limited has always been proud of our charitable works. To find a way to contribute back to our communities, we have especially formed the "Acetop Charitable Volunteer Team." On 8 December 2012, Acetop Precious Metals Limited and the Hong Kong Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society (CGSE) jointly organized the "2012 Christmas Carnival of Joy and Warmth." We would like to take this opportunity to promote the common good and our commitment to helping the most vulnerable in the communities.
On the morning of 8 December, dozens of volunteers made their way to the Fong Yun-wah Neighborhood Elderly Centre in Mei Lam Estate, Shatin. They sat and chatted, organized interactive games, and distributed 200 wadded bed quilts to the older folks. The elderly were grinning from ear to ear as they accepted the bed quilts. Everyone at the center was touched by it. In the afternoon, the volunteer team traveled to the Salisbury YMCA auditorium in Tsim Sha Tsui, where they joined 400 other new immigrant families from the New Home Association in Sham Shui Po District, to celebrate the annual jubilant occasion with a grand carnival celebration.
Before the official commencement of the celebration, Mr Lau Chun-yeung, chairman of the TWGHs Volunteer Service Promotion Committee, first made a speech to thank everyone on behalf of the organizers and each of the supporting units, and then concluded his speech by wishing everyone a happy holiday season. The management team stated, "The reason that this event is sponsored by both Acetop Precious Metals Limited and the Hong Kong Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society is because we well understand the corporate philosophy of 'What the community has given us is now given back to the community in a meaningful manner.’ We wish to use this opportunity to give back to the community by distributing bed quilts. And as part of our commitment to being socially responsible, we will continue to do our best in promoting charitable works."
The auditorium was packed with a cheering crowd for the carnival. We received a warm welcome from four hundred friends of all types. The cheering from the crowd never stopped, adding a festive joy to the already raucous festival atmosphere. The variety presentations of the day were very entertaining. For instance, magician Brother Sunday got everyone excited and nervous with his wonderful magic show and the smooth and melodious Christmas songs played by several young volunteers on violin, just to name a couple. Then the mood in the auditorium changed when a group of young performers began a song and dance craze that has been sweeping the globe -- the "Gangnam Style." They sent the audience wild with the strong beats and pounding rhythms of the music. Everyone danced along, heating up the atmosphere at its height. At the end of the show, Santa Claus appeared bearing with him presents and bed quilts. It was a fruitful day for everyone with all of them going home loaded with gifts.
Acetop Precious Metals Limited and our employees hope all of you enjoy this event. Our blessings are always with you. The success of this event is due entirely to the full support of the Hong Kong Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society. We want to take this moment to thank Supervisor Director Mr Chan Wai-man and Mr Chan Yan-chun. We also want to thank the many sponsors for their generous gifts and coordination.
