Acetop Precious Metals Limited sponsored the Hong Kong annual football tournament -- 2013 Lunar New Year Cup to celebrate the Chinese New Year of Snake.

The Hong Kong Football Association also invited three overseas teams: Shanghai East Asia of China, Muangthong United of Thailand; and Busan IPark of Korea. The team represented Hong Kong in the competition was Hong Kong League XI.

The matchkicked off on Lunar New Year's Day. The Shanghai East Asia won 4-1 over Muangthong United in the first half. In the second half, Hong Kong League XI lost 3-1 to Busan IPark. By the end of the game, Shanghai East Asia and Busan IPark were in the final.

On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, in the first half of the second runner-up, Hong Kong League XI won 1-0 over Thai champions Muangthong United, breaking the curse of unlucky third place play-off. Changing the lineup, Hong Kong League XI performed better than the first match. They changed to a simpler and more direct style of play. Making full use of the physical advantages, they kept penetrating the defense.Due to the fact that Thai’s Datsakorn Thonglao made a grievous error by scoring an own goal, Hong Kong League XI won the first score in the first 15th minute. After they switched sides, Hong Kong League XI kept a clean sheet. Finally, Hong Kong League XI won 1-0 the second runner-up.

In the cup final,Busan IPark won the Lunar New Year Cup with 1-0 over Shanghai East Asia. After the game, the champion award was presented by Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, JP, President of the Hong Kong Football Association.
