Celebrate Love on 2013 Mother’s Day
2013年08月28日

On 12 May 2013, Acetop Precious Metals Limited sponsored the “Celebrate Love on Mother’s Day,” hosted by The Against Elderly Abuse of Hong Kong. Acetop volunteers celebrated Mother’s Day with 240 senior women who live alone.

The Against Elderly Abuse of Hong Kong provides 24-hour, one-stop support for elderly people who are abandoned, socially isolated, impoverished, abused or live alone. In addition, the organization helps the poverty-stricken elderly people to go through the final journey of their life and arrange the funeral service for the one who have no one to depend on.

On Monday’s Day, the organization invited 240 senior women. They live in Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, and Kwun Tong, have been abandoned by the family and live on Old Age Allowance (OAA) and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA). It is expected that the society can provide help and support for those elderly in need, particularly those who live alone. Life for them is especially tough, considering the high cost of health care and food as a result of inflation.

The first stop of our day was the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. They visited the Hong Kong Senior Fair, which is a one-stop senior exhibition. We had a buffet lunch and lucky draw at the Empire Hotel. In the afternoon, we visited the D100 radio station located in Cyberport. Everyone received flowers and presents. They were delighted and each one went home with a warm smile.

Acetop hope that the public can attach more importance to the senior who live alone and promote a harmonious society
